MAKE SOMETHING WITH YOUR OWN HANDS.
Creativity has a home on the Eastside. Join us Friday, October 9 at 6:00 PM for Create & Sip, a wire earrings class where you’ll make three beautiful designs alongside your neighbors. No experience is needed, all materials are included, and we’ll have beverages and snacks on hand — bring your favorite drink if you like. Free Box of Cereal · While Supplies Last

Food security is neighborhood work. Thanks to our partnership with Pine Forest Elementary School, which collected boxes for the Eastside, families can now pick up a free box of cereal — two boxes per family, starting today, while supplies last. Pickup is at the SHINE Resource Center, 820 A Philip Randolph Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Thank you to Pine Forest Elementary for showing up for your neighbors.

Historic Eastside Fall Festival · Friday, October 30
COME ENJOY FAMILY, FOOD, AND FUN.
Save the date and bring the whole family. On Friday, October 30, the Florida Avenue Main Street District comes alive for the Historic Eastside Fall Festival, presented by Aunt Barbara’s King Academy. Stop by the businesses along the corridor for food, kids activities, and vendors — an evening of neighborhood joy on one of our own main streets. Family Zone at 737 A Philip Randolph Blvd. Festivities begin at 5:00 PM.

Light the Way Mural Project · People. Place. Possibilities.
STUDENT ARTIST APPRENTICES: PAINT. LEARN. CREATE. TRANSFORM.
We are seeking Student Artist Apprentices to help paint a transformational mural on the 7th & Milnor pedestrian walkover, next to Matthew Gilbert High School. You’ll work alongside a professional artist team, gain hands-on experience, build skills and creativity, and be part of a project that celebrates Eastside’s youth and limitless potential. Student stipends will be provided. Installation is October 2026. Open to middle and high school students. Application deadline: September 28, 2026 — selected students will be notified by September 30, 2026. Presented with LIFT JAX. Art changes places. People change the future.
